Public-key encryption: ECC

Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is a publickey cryptography technique providing 128- bit security approved for use by many security standards including ANSI, IETF, IEEE and NIST.

ECC is an excellent solution for managing keys in a public-key system, and also for generating keys as needed. While the nature of alternatives such as RSA makes it difficult for them to generate public keys for devices such as smart cards, ECC is capable of doing so rapidly and easily.
